Weekend Adventure

So hopefully the title has got your attention and you keep reading....

We got to experience the lovely St. Paul over St. Patrick's day. Of course we were not there because we are Irish and it is the place to be. No, we are there for the college hockey tournament. It was a very exciting weekend because the Gopher's won the Final Five and with St. Patrick's day the people watching was the tops! A few memorable people was the guy wearing red Pippy Longstocking hair, the chubby lady in the underwear, the spray-painted green dog, but the best over all was the 70 year old man stick skinny wear tights! I was going to bring my camera but I didn't want to risk getting it lost or broken in the mess of people. Next year I will have to buy a cheap one to take along!

Normal??

Just a quick update to say Mike is back and things are back to the regular groove. Also now it is my turn to head out of town. I am going on a scrapbooking retreat weekend with my friend Terri. It is in central MN, called Camp Shamineau. It houses over 200 people. I hope to get a lot done.

Since I am all packed up I gave my hand to a digtal layout. This actually is my second all digtal layout but I am going to claim it as my first! You don't want to see my first! ;)

Have a good weekend!

Snow Travel

I feel sorry for Mike. He flew out in the mix of snow on Saturday for New Orleans. First they were suppose to leave at 1:30 and then the airport closed so they disembarked. Reboard around 3:00 to finally get off the ground a while later. Once in the air the plane's deicing mechanism quit working. Now, not being able to land anywhere there was moisture they diverted to Detroit, MI. Boarded another plane and didn't arrive in New Orleans until 10:15, a good six hours after he of arrived.

He was suppose to come back today and we are getting hit by another storm. Mike rebooked his flight for tomorrow night. Hopefully all is passed by then and we have nothing to worry about.

School is cancelled for the day but right now the house is quite as both Will and Tate went over to the neighbors to play outside. Luckily, the fridge is stocked and I have a couple of movies so we don't need to go out for anything.

With Mike being gone I had more time to work on a couple scrapbooking projects. The layout is Tate's page of our trip to Bunker Beach last summer, 2006. Boy, do I enjoy scrapbooking summer pages in the winter. I will have to remember that and save a few of this years summer pictures for next winter. The journal is something that I did for myself to keep with me so if I think of something that I want to remember I can make a quick note. It is hard to tell but it is 5x5 in size.

So anyone else watching American Idol? It is so nice this year to have a fellow viewer. Will is watching it too. He is not as faithful as me, I think that he knows if he watches it he doesn't have to go to be as early. So what are your vote for who is going home tonight?

Well, that about wraps today up.

Oh yeah, I have some snow for sale if anyone wants it. Actually if you come and pick it up it is FREE!

Back in Time

I have been watching the neighbor boy, Jake, while his daycare is closed and yesterday the funnest thing happened. I had greeted them off the bus and then I went inside because it was a little cold. A few minutes later Tate and Jake come in and Tate says something like man the good old days were hard. I am now in the room beside them so I just listen. The conversation continues something like this...

Jake: What about the good old days?
Tate: They were hard!
Jake: Yeah!
Tate: They didn't have houses and everything was dirt!
Jake: And no lectricee (electricity) too!
Tate: Yeah, just one light bulb for lectricee!

I was just rolling on the floor listening to these two six years reminisce about the old days. I did all I could not to laugh out loud for them to hear me and stop the conversation. There was more to it but that is all I can remember.

Since Will's season is wrapping up I added some hockey photos on the slide show to honor his season. Will is number 3. The team is now in the district playoff with single elimination. The first game was on Monday and of course they won. So tonight we are off to the second game, which is over an hour away. With game time and the drive we will be gone from 4:30pm to around 9pm. Late night for Tate, heck me too! I truly hope that they don't win because then we have to drive to even farther on Saturday. The team will probably win because of the drive and Mike is going to be out of town so I will have to drive. I don't mind driving it is just the there is suppose snow this weekend.

Hope Mike's travels go ok too. He is going to New Orleans for a work trade show and will be gone until March 1st. I think this will be the longest that he has ever been away from the family. He never travels for his job so I don't real mind this trip that much. Just hope that the weather doesn't effect his or anyone's travels this weekend.

Getting Older

Do the days just seem to fly by when they are approaching your birthday? Not much longer and I will be another year older! Can I hope that time suddenly stops or just up and reverses itself! Maybe I should just forget time and pick my own age. Ok, that sounds good ~ I am now 29!

So the other day I was in our bedroom and all I hear from the living room is Mike telling Tate "no more growing up!" Mike was just playing around with Tate on the sofa and he just realized that Tate is getting so big. Where does the time go! I look at Tate and then Will and can't believe the difference the years make. Will is so grown up looking and Tate still has the little boy look, however it is quickly disappearing hence the reason for Mike's comment. I am still lucky to be able to pick Tate up and spin him around, Will can now pick me up and spin me if he so wanted. I am so glad that I enjoy scrapbooking. I feel like it is my little stoppage in time! I can capture and create art on everyday happens so we can look back and remember!

The high school had Snow Days last week. Wednesday was formal day, this was the only day that Will dressed up for. He looked so nice and I lucked out and was allow to snap a few photos. I remember purchasing the jacket that Will is wearing at Herberger's for $10 when I was about his age. It was a fashion when I was younger for young girls to wear "men's style" clothing. Who would of thought that Will would be wearing my jacket years later!

Enjoy time! I think that this young 29 year old might be going outside to do a few cartwheels! ;-)
