Back in Time

I have been watching the neighbor boy, Jake, while his daycare is closed and yesterday the funnest thing happened. I had greeted them off the bus and then I went inside because it was a little cold. A few minutes later Tate and Jake come in and Tate says something like man the good old days were hard. I am now in the room beside them so I just listen. The conversation continues something like this...

Jake: What about the good old days?
Tate: They were hard!
Jake: Yeah!
Tate: They didn't have houses and everything was dirt!
Jake: And no lectricee (electricity) too!
Tate: Yeah, just one light bulb for lectricee!

I was just rolling on the floor listening to these two six years reminisce about the old days. I did all I could not to laugh out loud for them to hear me and stop the conversation. There was more to it but that is all I can remember.

Since Will's season is wrapping up I added some hockey photos on the slide show to honor his season. Will is number 3. The team is now in the district playoff with single elimination. The first game was on Monday and of course they won. So tonight we are off to the second game, which is over an hour away. With game time and the drive we will be gone from 4:30pm to around 9pm. Late night for Tate, heck me too! I truly hope that they don't win because then we have to drive to even farther on Saturday. The team will probably win because of the drive and Mike is going to be out of town so I will have to drive. I don't mind driving it is just the there is suppose snow this weekend.

Hope Mike's travels go ok too. He is going to New Orleans for a work trade show and will be gone until March 1st. I think this will be the longest that he has ever been away from the family. He never travels for his job so I don't real mind this trip that much. Just hope that the weather doesn't effect his or anyone's travels this weekend.

Getting Older

Do the days just seem to fly by when they are approaching your birthday? Not much longer and I will be another year older! Can I hope that time suddenly stops or just up and reverses itself! Maybe I should just forget time and pick my own age. Ok, that sounds good ~ I am now 29!

So the other day I was in our bedroom and all I hear from the living room is Mike telling Tate "no more growing up!" Mike was just playing around with Tate on the sofa and he just realized that Tate is getting so big. Where does the time go! I look at Tate and then Will and can't believe the difference the years make. Will is so grown up looking and Tate still has the little boy look, however it is quickly disappearing hence the reason for Mike's comment. I am still lucky to be able to pick Tate up and spin him around, Will can now pick me up and spin me if he so wanted. I am so glad that I enjoy scrapbooking. I feel like it is my little stoppage in time! I can capture and create art on everyday happens so we can look back and remember!

The high school had Snow Days last week. Wednesday was formal day, this was the only day that Will dressed up for. He looked so nice and I lucked out and was allow to snap a few photos. I remember purchasing the jacket that Will is wearing at Herberger's for $10 when I was about his age. It was a fashion when I was younger for young girls to wear "men's style" clothing. Who would of thought that Will would be wearing my jacket years later!

Enjoy time! I think that this young 29 year old might be going outside to do a few cartwheels! ;-)

You spin me around

New washer is here and working! I am impressed that we were able to install it all by our self. I have done laundry twice already. It is so nice because it is bigger so laundry was done in three loads today. Oh boy, does it spin!! The clothes are whipped into shape. The funny thing is that Tate and I sat and watched the washer work for about ten minutes. It is cool to be able to just sit on the laundry room floor and watch the washer do the work!

Tate was so cute when he came home from school today. He came bursting into the house because it was so cold outside. His hair was all messed, nose running and cheeks all rosy.

I also had some time to work on a scrapbook page since I didn't have to do as much laundry. The page is of Will at Bunker Beach this last summer. I guess that it was a good page to do when the weather is so cold. Just made me feel warmer. You can click on the photos for a larger view.

Did the groundhog see his shadow? How much more winter? Anyway, stay warm until next time!

Tooth Fairy

When Tate has a loose tooth there is no way that you are touching it. Two nights ago his second loose tooth was just hanging by a thread, but of course you can't touch it. So we are all done brushing his teeth for the night and Tate goes to spit and he see blood. Looking in his mouth we find his tooth is missing. Unfortunately the water is running and I think that it went down the drain. Now raises the problem of how will the tooth fairy find it. Quick thinking mom says that the tooth fairy has extra special vision and she can spot loose teeth anywhere. The next day after he sees the money the questions don't stop. We have "how does she get the money that she puts under your pillow" and "why do I never see or hear her". The later was easy to answer but the first still has me reeling for an answer. If you have one let me know!!

Will's hockey team had a game the other night. The games are a little better to watch when we are not getting slaughtered! This was a close one, the score was zero to one mid-way through the third period (other teams favor). I feel so sorry for Will and his team mates, they just don't have any star quality and this year has been really tough.

Our new washer is suppose to be coming today. I am excited to use it, but the washer gets cold on the truck so the little water that is in it will freeze. So one day is need to make sure no water is frozen. I will have to let you know tomorrow how I like it.

I am debating if I should put in a submission to a scrapbook web-store for their design team. Not sure if my pages are up to par. I guess that I just should because you never know if you don't try! The bubbles page is one that I put on their website for view.

Have a great day! And try and stay warm if you are out and about in Minnesota!

Walker for Sale

Well, last night was another evening of skating. This time I went with Mike and Tate. We also got Will to go too. Sometimes he doesn't care to do much but then when you get him out there he has a great time. There were about seven kids from his hockey team there. So they played a pick-up game of hockey. Outdoor ice is so bad on the edges of your skates, so we will be making a trip to the sporting good store to have Will's skates sharpened before practice tonight.

It was so cool to see Tate trying so hard at something. I think that Mike is really excited to see Tate enjoy some sort of sport. By the end of the evening Tate was no longer using the "walker" and could even stand up by himself. The downside is that today Tate's checks and lips are really dry. And he won't let me put anything on them. He says that it is lip gloss and that is "yucky".

Oh, don't get spoiled by two posts in a row. Probably a fluke!

Kayting and Quarter

Well, a couple days later and I achieved getting my header changed. Hopefully things get easier or I am not sure if I am going to continue with this. I did find a neat website that will help with blog functions. The site is betabloggerfordummies. Hope you can find it useful also.

So on to the happens in the household, well of course when you just think that things are on there way to being paid off something breaks. I just put a load of laundry in and was just about upstairs and I heard a big thump. So the cloths washer is not working. And of course another bill for a new one.

Mike took Tate ice skating last night. Or maybe I should say "kayting" as Tate says. He still has trouble saying "s". Mike was only going to gone about an half an hour. An hour and a half later I had to call him on his cell to tell him that they should come home so Tate can get to bed. I guess Tate really enjoyed himself. Mike had made a "walker" to help Tate skate. Tate actually would push the walker to Mike and then kind of skate towards Mike. Some high school student was there making a documentary on skating and asked to film Tate. So now Tate is not just a skater but a film star!

Will started the new quarter in high school. High school is going so well for him. He has five classes and I guess the neighbor girl is in three of them. The funny thing is that in all of people in town their last name falls right after us. So she ends up sitting right beside Will. It is ok with Will just he would like a change.

The end of the quarter grades should be arriving soon and Will is so hoping to be on the A honor roll. He is always so close, I think that if he didn't make it this quarter it will be the closest that he has ever been.

Newbie

Well, here it goes. I guess that I am caving to the new (OK semi-new) society and making a blog.

Hope you enjoy and that my life is not to boring to not have anything to add.
